Did you know that I have been invited to attend today’s White House Tour?
I must say being asked to attend the white house tour is both an honor and privilege for me. I have been in the Washington metropolitan area for a little over 10 years, and I am honored to represent the Make Mine a Million – Count Me IN organization, as well as, women owned businesses.
The tour invite is such an honor because as the owner of Security First & Associates, the Washington DC area is diverse with countless opportunities in the Defense industry. I hope this opportunity will provide me with a networking tool and a way to meet with a diverse group of entrepreneurs, and successful professional people, and hopefully to open a collaboration between women small business owners, government representatives and industry experts in discussion forums relevant to starting, funding, and managing a woman owned business.
I am being asked by Friends and Family, what you would say to the Obama’s if you have a chance to talk to them?
My response would be;
President Obama you have urged members of Congress to extend benefits for the unemployed, which expired Wednesday for about 2 million Americans
What are you going to do about the millions of people that are out of a job?
Extending benefits are great, but what about Jobs?
Did you know that you can stimulate the economy by helping a woman owned company?
Let’s get people back to work!
As of October, the economy wasn’t even creating enough jobs to absorb new graduates and other new members of the work force. The number of people officially considered among the long-term unemployed was 6.2 million, and that’s not counting the 2.6 million people who aren’t working but also aren’t numbered among the unemployed because they’re no longer looking for work.
