Job Description
Security First & Associates is seeking a hands-on ISSO (Information Systems Security Officer) to support classified systems within a DoD cleared environment. This part-time 1099 contract role focuses on Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance, ATO sustainment, and DCSA readiness.
The ideal candidate will have recent experience supporting NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117) environments and maintaining NIST RMF / 800-53 security controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update RMF documentation, including SSPs, POA&Ms, and security control artifacts
- Support ATO sustainment and coordinate with Authorizing Officials (AOs)
- Execute continuous monitoring activities
- Track and remediate vulnerabilities, including ACAS findings, STIGs, and scan results
- Prepare for and support DCSA inspections and assessments
- Perform security impact analysis for system and configuration changes
- Support incident response and reporting activities
- Serve as Alternate COMSEC Custodian, as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance – required (no exceptions)
- Experience serving as an ISSO or ISSM within a DoD or cleared contractor environment
- Strong knowledge of NIST RMF and NIST SP 800-53
- Experience building and maintaining ATO packages, including SSPs, POA&Ms, and supporting artifacts
- Familiarity with NISPOM and DCSA requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting small to mid-sized defense contractors
- Prior DCSA audit or assessment support
- Certifications such as Security+, CAP, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent
- Experience using eMASS or similar RMF tools
- COMSEC experience
